Conferences and 2025
Greetings all. This year, I’d like to do more speaking at writing conferences. Partially because I enjoy it, and partially because I enjoy giving back to the writing community.
Also, it’s a good idea for me to show my face in public every now and again. Otherwise, I’d just stay cooped up in my writing lair until mushrooms grow over my back. Not a good situation for anybody.
Anyhow, for those who don’t know, one does not simply walk into a writing conference and begin speaking. You have to make the cut. That usually involves sending highly detailed outlines and more while the folks who organize the conferences decide whether or not you’re a good fit.
That’s fine. After all, nobody wants to go to a conference where the same topic is rehashed over and over again. Somebody has to arrange the lineup.
So, the TLDR is that I want to speak at conferences this year, but it’s a bit too early to know which (if any) I’ll be able to appear at.
I have spoken at small local events in the past. With any luck, my previous experience will be sufficient to land me a spot at some of the larger venues. If I make the team, you guys will be the first to know.
Until then, happy writing
